Get Involved posters by Nils Leonard, Ali Graham, James Joyce and Jeremyville

Clockwise from top left, posters by Nils Leonard, Ali Graham, Jeremyville and James Joyce.

Most of clubland’s promotional material is hardly the stuff of exhibitions. However, one monthly night called Get Involved has been making an effort to swim against the tide…

Each month, Get Involved approaches a different illustrator or designer to produce a promotional poster. Now a year old, an exhibition at the venue of the clubnight, The Social, opens tomorrow night and will display poster designs created over the course the night's first year. Contributors include James Joyce (One Fine Day), Richard Hogg (airside), typographer Nils Leonard, Natasha Shah, Jeremyville, Roo Walton, Peskimo, Ali Graham, Ian Stevenson and Anthony Burrill.

Anthony Burrill, who designed the poster above, will also be getting involved musically at tomorrow night's session. He’ll be playing a set in his musical guise as the Bad Acid Soundsystem (as featured at the V&A’s Village Fete for the last couple of years). Well, it's all in the spirit of the night...

The exhibition runs through December 2006.

The posters are excellent and its great to see this kind of thing going on in london, It would be nice to see them use this idea to push new designers, hopefully they will do this in the future.

Get Involved already use this idea to push new designers and image makers, as well as celebrate more established individuals. The contributors to the project Natasha Shah and also James Joyce have recently set up their own design studios. Contributors Roo Walton and Ali Graham are both under 20 years old.
