But hopefully not so "jolly" that you drown in your own 40 per cent proof vomit. Or run someone over whilst drunk behind the wheel. Yes, it's time to roll out the anti-binge drinking campaigns...

These posters (above) are from a campaign by Leeds-based company: an agency called england, for the Wakefield District Community Safety Partnership. Entitled Drinkheads, the campaign will run throughout December as 6 sheet and 48 sheet posters – and in bars and clubs on beer mats, bar mats and washroom posters. Art director: Paul Alexander. Copywriter Jerry Gross. Photography: Guy Farrow. Image manipulation: Stephen Reilly.

And you may have seen some of the nationally rolled out hard hitting posters, commissioned by the Home Office and Department of Health, that combine harsh facts with rather brutal photography and the strapline: Know Your Limits. The posters, from United London, are black and white with gruesome red highlights in the bloody bits. Art directors: Andy Bunday, Nils Leonard. Copywriter: Jon Lilley. Design: Nils Leonard.

"drown in your own 40 per cent proof vomit" - This alone is more shocking than the first two posters. I don't think the latest drinking campaigns are causing enough of an impact to make a difference.

Second lot of campaign adverts are more effective. Personally more graphical images are need to open up peoples mind and attitudes towards alcohol. Looking at campaigns over the years they have been good and bad visuals but none that have the effect needed to stamp a mark in peoples minds.

Love it, does anybody know the fonts used in the posters please, I admire them so much, please I'm working on my own design at the moment and that is the perfect font for me to use!
