Hewlett Creates A Buzz for Jimmyjane

Here at CR we regularly get bombarded with news of the latest "designer collaboration". Radios, cars, Coke bottles... all have recently been sprinkled with a little designer fairydust courtesy of an overimaginative PR company and a designer with a mortgage to pay and a somewhat elastic notion of the term "selling out". But this one's a doozy. Jamie Hewlett, he of Tank Girl and the Gorillaz, has applied his distinctive graphic stylings to a range of celebrity-approved vibrators.
Hewlett illustrated the sex toys for Jimmyjane, the multi-award-winning brand founded by product designer Ethan Imboden that, according to a press release enjoys "a ‘must have’ status amongst the design and celebrity elite. Kate Moss, Tom Ford. P Diddy, Terri Hatcher and Lindsay Lohan are all fans of his work," we are told. In a joint project between Jimmyjane and London club Kabaret Prophecy, a different character Hewlett appears on each of the six Little Something vibrators in the range which will be sold in Selfridges. The coterie, supposedly based on the types that frequent the club and originally designed to appear on the club's walls, consists of three male and three female characters: Dick Ward, Major Maja Flink, Vanity Unit, The Honorable Vane Sackful Smythe (shown below), Omaha Hi-Lo and The Profit. Each character will appear on only 1,500 sequentially numbered vibrators for the limited edition series. Pleasure, it seems comes at a price: Each ULTIMATE MEMBER LIMITED (their capitals) vibrator retails for £195, while the collector's set of all six designs is £1,150.

An amazing range of vibrators. I had no idea they could look so good. I'm not sure who would pay nearly £2000 for one though. You would have to be pretty indulgent.
