Photographer Esther Teichmann's first solo show has just opened at the Man&Eve gallery in London, running until 14 October. A graduate of Kent Institute of Art and Design and the RCA – and a CR Creative Future in 2005 – Teichmann's Silently Mirrored show brings together a series of photographs and a double screen film projection...

Born in Karlsruhe, Germany in 1980, Teichmann moved to the UK in 1998 and is now based in London. Much of her photography has a painterly quality and, in Silently Mirrored, Teichmann again takes "the body" (both her mother's and her husband's) as the subject of her compelling work.

A catalogue, designed by Matilda Saxow (with an introductory essay by Carol Mavor) is published alongside the Silently Mirrored exhibition and Teichmann will also be giving a talk about her work at the gallery on Thursday 20th September at 7.30pm.
