Graphic Design

Cliff, Brian May, that kid that won Britain's Got Talent, step aside. The real star of this year's Royal Variety Performance is a piece of graphic design...

Hampton-based design studio elliottyoung was commissioned by the Entertainment Artiste’s Benevolent Fund (EABF) to create a one-off programme cover to mark the 80th Royal Variety performance (which is on 11 December).

Elliottyoung, in turn, commissioned embroidery specialists Hand & Lock to stitch a design featuring the RVP's logo and the Prince of Wales' crest using silver and gold wire.

Chas and Camilla will be handed this special edition programme for the event - the rest of the audience will have to make do with a printed facsimile if they want to know what time the Pussycat Dolls are coming on.

I like to see real things being made by real craftspeople. It's never the easiest route, but what a great result!

Nice work elliottoung, I hope Prince Charles appreciates it!

Bloody marvelous!
(and to think how hard it is to get some clients to commit to foil blocking or embossing.. at least Charlie knows what's what.)

Yeah as Jason says, its really nice when you see real craft being employed in modern graphic design. My girlfriend has an embroidery machine... I wonder if she'd mind me having a go.

what a waste of time and talent... more myth making for these rich people.... what is your fascination with the elite robber barons?
