Comfort ad, agency: Ogilvy London. Creatives: Sue Higgs, Tony Haigh. Production company: Thomas Thomas Films. Director: Jim Gilchrist
It's Friday, so it must be time for a round-up of some of the brilliant things we've seen and heard recently at Creative Review Towers. First up is this amusing new ad from Ogilvy in London, which reveals how a naturist family is torn apart by the irresistible softness and fragrance that Comfort fabric conditioner gives to clothes.
Be-Kanye ad for Absolut vodka, agency: TBWAChiatDay, digital agency: Greatworks
Kanye West shows his funny side in this 'info-mercial' for Absolut vodka.
Frijj viral ad, agency: Grey London

The best of these films will be screened as part of the six week-long Frijj Film Festival which opens on August 14. Director: Tomorrows Brightest Minds. Production company: One Small Step.
Knife crime ad for Tower Hamlets Council, production company: Thomas Thomas Films. Director: Kevin Thomas
On a more serious note, here's the latest ad to tackle the wave of knife crime in London, from Tower Hamlets Council. The film is directed by Kevin Thomas.
My Drive Thru video, directed by Psyop
Back to fun now, with this new ad-cum-music video for Converse. US ad agency Anomaly is behind this number, which sees Pharrell Williams, Santagold and The Strokes' Julian Casablancas join forces to sing a catchy tune that also insidiously aims to get you buying more Converse. Psyop has created the video.
Tomorrow, Clinic, directed by WIZ
Sticking with videos, here's the latest by WIZ for Clinic's Tomorrow.
Man-Sized Wreath video for REM, directed by Crush Toronto
Crush Toronto has followed up their excellent Hollow Man video for REM with this promo for new track Man-Sized Wreath.
Sleeping Sickness, City and Colour, directed by Vincent Morisset
Vincent Morisset has created this video for Sleeping Sickness by City and Colour. An interactive version of the video can be found here.
Feist on Sesame Street
Finally Feist has become the latest musician to appear on Sesame Street (previous guests have included James Blunt who sang this amazing lament for his lost triangle). Feist reworks her hit 1,2,3,4 to teach us all about numbers. All together now...

When it comes to spoof infomercial ads, that Kanye spot pales in comparison to the ad for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 from way back in 1993:

That Kanye spot is too over-the-top, even for this era of internet-powered irony.
And in general, I welcome with open arms the inevitable deaths of the 50-, 60-, and 90-second spot.
Sorry if I sound bitter, perhaps I've been away from Blighty too long.

the REM video by Crush Toronto is definitely the most refreshing piece of visual communication I've seen in a long long time. Ace!

I like the Ogilivy ad the best, loving the dead pan approach!
