Armchair Theatre

Walking along London's South Bank yesterday, on my way back from the Central St Martins degree show (of which more later) I spotted this outsize lounge suite in front of the National Theatre
The astroturfed furniture is part of Watch This Space, a season of performances at the NT that lasts until September.
The furniture, which was designed by Watch This Space director Angus MacKechnie and built by an in-house team at the NT, will not be used to stage any performances - it's just a nice place to hang out. It's this kind of unexpected bright spot that makes living in a city worth all the hassle.

Has no one got any better to do than to build pointless furniture along the themes
