Honda ad originally shown live on Channel 4

The first UK live television ad played out last night on Channel 4 - it was a three-minute spot for Honda by Wieden + Kennedy London and 4 Creative, featuring a team of sky jumpers spelling out the brand's name to promote the 'difficult is worth doing' philosophy. Impressive stuff... Watch it again here.

I get that it was difficult. But worth it?

I have to say "so what"...?

Left me completely unmoved.
Somehow oddly disappointing.

Maybe things don't look so jaded from Australia, but I thought it was wonderful in its ambition. In a world of expedience and planned obselescence, it demonstrated 'Difficult is worth doing' beautifully. At every turn, at the planning, writing, making and placing, it would have been much easier not to do this idea. Well done, whoever.

As a lover of all Honda's recent adverts (except that recent building block one) I have to say I think this them back to their best. Liked the voice over, added a nice bit of character.

How hard has it become to be the 'first' to do something these days?

Just a shame I missed the live broadcast, so thanks CR

I think Honda's ads are always unusual and provoke discussion - job done on this one certainly!

I'm often wary of advertising in the form of 'never been done' stunts but I think in this instance it's relevant and works really well.

I liked the simplicity of the editing - no additional soundtrack or fancy camera angles, they let the stunt and the skydivers take centre-stage.
It also emphasizes that if you do something right you don't need to dress it up.
