Adidas House Party

adidas commercial, agency: Sid Lee, Montreal; creatives: Laura Kim, Ron Wilfred Macdonald; director: Nima Nourizadeh; production company: Partizan LA

Nima Nourizadeh has directed this latest commercial for adidas, a minute-long film shot at a house party where everyone's dressed in adidas. In amongst the regular (if very cool) joes are a plentiful supply of celebrities, some of which are easier to spot than others...

David Beckham makes a rather jarring entrance (surely neither VB or his security detail would allow him to rock up at a party like this?), alongside the likes of Missy Elliot, Katy Perry, Mark Gonzales, The Ting Tings, Estelle, Method Man and even Ilie Nastase.

The ad is the latest in the Celebrate Originality campaign for adidas Originals (call us pedantic but is a party where everyone is wearing the same brand really celebrating originality?) and was created by agency Sid Lee in Montreal, who, interestingly enough, was also behind the self-initiated project Fleeting Seating, that Gavin posted on the blog last week.

I was really looking forward to this but a little light has gone out in my Adidas heart....Russell Simmons, Nastase - Yes.... Ting Tings, Beckham. Katy Perry, Estelle in there, I feel sad! The thing is with Adidas Originals I feel that you have to earn the right to go down as classic and Ting Tings are not classic...
I think Adidas have took there eye off the ball here.....
Im a Liverpool fan so yeah Im biased against Beckham but is that Robbie Keane on the Graffiti wall, now that is confusing? Maybe I could be in the next Adidas advert I have probably bought and worn there products a million times more than Katie Perry (who probably gets them free) reminds me that there was a guy recently who billed Adidas for 30 years worth of advertising for wearing there logo all his life, I may do the same because the originals brand is starting to lose its edge by over kill....
PS John Barnes should have been at that party as should Kenny Daglish!

I read somewhere on the internet that it was a remix by Pilooski.

The original Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons released it on the B Side of "Working My Way Back To You" then in 2007 it was remixed and released with the Pilooski Remix on, then Madcon did a version in 2008.

Timebox did a version in 1968:

Caleb is wrong. The tune here is the Pilooski re-edit of frankie valli & Four Seasons "Beggin' ", not the later cover by madcon.

I don't think that is remixed at all. Sure sounds like the original Franky Valli track to me.

Who is it who looks like they are taking a bong hit? It is not a bong, it almost looks like a leaf blower or a vaccuum cleaner. What is this?

The song in the commercial is the Pilooski re-edit of Frankie Valli's original version of "Beggin'," not the recent cover of "Beggin'" by Euro-Rap group Madcon.

As for it not sounding remixed, that's because it's not. It's a re-edit, which means it was extended by a DJ to make it longer and more suited for club play.

It's the same song, just re-edited.

im afraid to say that i loved the advert simply because of the advert, i wasnt bothered about the "celebrating originality" bit.

Hi Everyone,

If you like the song for the Adidas Originals House Party, it was made originaly by Frankie Valli and it's called Beggin. The song was remix by Pelooski. Other remix versions where also created by Boogie Studio for the web videos.

If anyone wants to hear the proposed remix created for web videos, feel free to check them out at:
