One of several new British Airways outdoor ads. Photography: Adam Hinton

Still buzzing from absorbing the wealth of great photography collected together in our Photography Annual, we spotted a brand new, photography rich, campaign for British Airways that features shots by one of the photographers featured in said Photography Annual, Adam Hinton.

Actually, the ad agency behind the new campaign, Bartle Bogle Hegarty, enlisted the services of Hinton (represented by Wyatt Clarke & Jones) and also four Magnum photographers: Peter Marlow, Steve McCurry, Stuart Franklin and Olivia Arthur – asking them to explore cities beyond the usual guidebook stuff and capture the real essence of the places, the idea being that it's the things we observe off the beaten track on our travels that really enrich our holidays. Here are a selection of outdoor ads from the campaign.

This execution also features photography by Hinton

The ads below all feature images shot by Peter Marlow:

Press ads will gather multiple images and have longer copy - below is a single page ad promoting the wonders of Paris and also a double-page spread with images taken in India:

Lovely stuff.

That would have been the perfect job, to be asked to "explore cities beyond the usual guidebook stuff and capture the real essence of the places".

Nice. But the chap in the butcher looks like he'd have me for dinner not tell me where to get it…

Tough Assigment!

Great results and I think an ad campaign that's right on target, it made me want to jump on a plane and see somewhere new. Maybe I'll take my camera and see if I can sell thema few of my pics.

Great idea. Patchy Execution.
I agree about the psycho butcher.
I would also add that I wouldn't be tempted to get in a plane to see a dog on a balcony eyeing up a power cable - or am I missing the point?
Love the last two ads though.
