Designing Dante pt. II

Dante posters

Back in April, we featured a series of book covers for Dante’s Divine Comedy designed by Nicole Peterson, a graphic design graduate from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston (we spotted them on Armin Vit’s Quipsologies page). As the comments that Peterson received about her work on the CR Blog were so encouraging, she decided to make the designs into a series of posters, which are now available via her Flickr page, here. (Our original post on the book covers is here). What a nice story.

Nice.
If I had a position I free - I wouldn't hesitate in asking her over for an internship.

They're fantastic book covers but comparatively uninteresting as posters.

If I had a position I free - I wouldn’t hesitate in asking her over for an internship.

Says it all really. A person appears with some talent and they're instantly a target for exploitative employment. I'm not talking about you personal circumstances so please spare us your bleating, bleeding heart.

That's the way it works I'm afraid. We all have to start somewhere. But starting in some places are better than others.

(For the record. When we do use interns - we make sure they get as from us much as they give to the studio. In experience and a fair wage. You are absolutely right though Mr. Joe, the exploitation of cheap-labour undermines the industry. And we currently bear witness to an unprecedented level of it.)
