Overhang by Tobias Putrih and MOS, all photographs: Colin Davison

Resembling an epic game of Jenga, this installation by Slovenian artist Tobias Putrih and US architecture and design company MOS is currently on show at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead.

Putrih is known for his predilection for using temporary materials such as cardboard and packing tape, and the precarious-looking installation at Baltic is created using Styrofoam blocks. It will be on show at the gallery until August 31.

Quite obviously it's the architect version of Rachel Whiteread's Embankment (Tate Modern, Fall 2005)

I like serious thought provoking art as much as the next fart but this pretty cool, found it on William Gibson's blog

I work on all the BALTIC design work and this is a pretty interesting exhibition. However, that being said, they've had equally strong if not stronger exhibitions in the last 12 months worthy of reference, so if you're ever up in the highlands of England definitely go pay it a visit.

Newcastle (aka. the motherland) isn't all that scary, you should definitely all come pay us a visit sometime, you never know... you might just like it!

Anthony, after having just spent last night in the 'Highlands' it could be scary for some. Luckily I remember Viz, so wasn't surprised by the nightlife. But what a clash of cultures - Fat Slags and High Art. Check it out people.
