Joel Trussell combines giant balloon heads and roller disco to brilliant effect in his new promo for Love Long Distance by The Gossip.
According to Promo News, Trussell was brought into the project by legendary producer Rick Rubin, who produced The Gossip's latest album and has been a fan of the director since seeing his video for Jakob Dylan's Evil Is Alive And Well.

I like the concept, although I not completely sold on the style of the animated overlay. I only made it to 2:07 as the song is so so awful I had to switch it off.

The animated faces aren't right, they seem lazy. Kid 606- Mr Wobbles nightmare- Same concept better done.

Haha, I want a giant balloon head myself. A bit disturbing with the one in the loo though.

I agree. The animation seems lazy, and not in a good way. Feels very Shockwave ca. a long time ago.

I love this!

Horrible idea and band. There's nothing special going on here. It should be a bubblegum ad if that!

This really is no good, it shouldn't be here - there are many music videos available to your eyes and ears which involve greater concepts and are executed more effectively. this seems so standard when compared to whats available in this age. Do people not wanted to be "wowed" any more be an artist genius and creativity?

Spot on James C, where is the concept? Music videos should enhance the song... in this case it makes a pretty average song even more uncomfortable.

Made it to 1:06, although it got awful at 0:56.
Good idea though.

The song is not strong enough to make the viewer last the distance. The animation in post doesn't fit at times, and as lovely an idea as it is, it's can't sustain the distance as opposed to say Pumping On Your Stereo by Supergrass

I love the song and the video!
