New book Amelia's Anthology of Illustration launches tonight with an exhibition and party at Concrete Hermit shop and gallery in Shoreditch...
The book, compiled, designed and published by Amelia Gregory of Amelia's Magazine fame, features dozens of illustrations (by a selection of up and coming illustrators) that vividly bring to life a variety of yet-to-be-implemented contraptions and technologies that could provide renewable energy in the future. The book not only showcases illustration work along with interviews and profile pieces on each of the 40 featured illustrators, but also promotes clever ideas for renewable energy-creating technologies, with explanations of these concepts too. Here are some spreads from the 264 page hardback (first edition) tome:

"To find the 40 illustrators featured in this book I created an open brief on my Amelia's Magazine website," explains Gregory, "open for anyone to enter no matter how much or little experience they had. The only criteria in choosing the final contributors was the ability of each illustrator to answer the brief intelligently and imaginatively, show an interesting overall portfolio, and respond well to my art direction. Illustrators who have previously produced work for Amelia's Magazine were shown preference for their continuing initiative. As a result the illustrators featured represent a wide mix of styles and experience - some are full time professionals who have been working in the industry for a few years, whilst some are still at college, just graduated or have yet to find their feet."
Amelia's Anthology of Illustration is published by Gregory's own publishing company, Amelia's House, using environmentally responsible vegetable based inks and printed on FSC approved paper. It's priced at £25 but can be bought for £20 at the moment (at the time of writing) via ameliasmagazine.com/shop/
Ten illustrators featured in the book (including Karolin Schnoor, Merritt Studio, Laura Bird, Saffron Stocker and Jess Wilson) have taken over Concrete Hermit's gallery and shop in Shoreditch to create collaborative artwork based on their interpretation of renewable technologies – and signed copies of the hardback first edition of the book will be on sale through the shop. The show, which opens tonight with a book-launch party, will run until January 1st at Concrete Hermit, 5a Club Row, London E1 6JX. Some imagery from the show, below:

I see exactly where the inspiration came from for the fifth photo. It really does remind me of Medusa's raft. The illustrator did an incredible job incorporating colors, scrapbooking paper, and symbolism.
Is this book still available online?
