Bubblicious by Rex The Dog, directed by Geoffroy De Crecy, production company: Partizan
Here's a selection of some of the best videos to pass through CR Towers lately, kicking off with this charming hand-made promo from Geoffroy De Crecy for Rex The Dog track, Bubblicious.
An Eluardian Instance by Of Montreal, directed by Jesse Ewles
New talent Jesse Ewles has directed this promo for Of Montreal's snappily titled single An Eluardian Instance.
Skeleton Boy by Friendly Fires, directed by Clemens Habicht, production company: Nexus
Director Clemens Habicht has taken a literal approach to his video for Skeleton Boy by Friendly Fires, turning the band into dancing skeletons with the help of double-sided sticky tape and a load of bean-bag balls.
Under The Pines by Bodies of Water, directed by Andy Bruntel, production company: Directors Bureau
Andy Bruntel has directed this frankly bizarre vid for Under the Pines by Bodies of Water (dog lovers beware....).
Ulysees by Franz Ferdinand, directed by thirtytwo, production company: Pulse Films
The video for Franz Ferdinand's latest Ulysees (directed by thirtytwo) sees the band mooching moodily around the city with their instruments, strolling desert plains and, um, getting into tumble dryers. We're not sure why, but it's all quite watchable.
Close My Eyes by Sander van Doorn (featuring Robbie Williams), directed by John Major's Daughters, production company: P for Production
Ladies jump around in this video for Sander van Doorn (featuring Robbie Williams) track Close My Eyes, directed by John Major's Daughters.
Money by N.A.S.A (featuring David Byrne, Chuck D, Ras Congo, Seu Jorge & Z-Trip), directed by Syd Garon & Paul Griswold
Syd Garon & Paul Griswold utilise the artwork of Shepard Fairey for this video for Money by N.A.S.A (featuring David Byrne, Chuck D, Ras Congo, Seu Jorge & Z-Trip).
Leave by VV Brown, directed by OneInThree, production company: Colonel Blimp
Directors OneInThree have come up with another inventive vid, this time for Leave by VV Brown.
Aer Obama, directed by GOLD
Finally, directing team GOLD has created this music video to celebrate Obama's inauguration later on today. The film brings together Adam Freeland's remix of Daft Punk's Aerodynamic with a selection of toys by artists including Dalek, Bill McMullen and Kubrick and a voiceover courtesy of retro toy Speak and Spell to create a great piece of Obamarama.

I was wondering when someone would try to animate some Obey work - it's OK, looks a bit cheaply done. Friendly Fires is my favourite.
I love this video that my friends made: http://www.whatkatiedoes.net/2009/01/fanfarlo-harold-t-wilkins-video.html

N.A.S.A.'s video makes for more impressive viewing at higher resolution(YouTube removed the better version last month). Watch it on Vimeo instead: http://vimeo.com/2555969

The Chicken loves this tune and the artworks amazing, its like a kick in the balls for all those greedy bankers and multi-nationals. We need more music with strong messages like this ,the Government and the media turning the next Generation into Zombies.

Yeah because a music video with pseudo-rebellious images and messages is truly revolutionary! Does it not strike you as a massive contradiction that the 'subversive' messages is actually used to promote and sell pretty poor music; hence fueling an industry inherently part of the capitalist system? Also the fact that Shepard Fairey, initially a challenging graffiti artist, has subsequently sold out by selling merchandise and again promoting the ideologies he aims to tackle?
Rant over.
Other than that Friendly Fires video was ok.

well said and fair point, sort of reminds me of adam freeland using a bill hicks sample to sell his record we want your soul, in a song about marketing people using culture trends to sell products........ahhh the irony, still im having a similar issue with this piece I did....

using broadcast material to create an uncopyrighted video about larry lessig [creative commons head honcho] and stephen colbert, hence ive made the video downloadable for others to remix which aleviats the artistic endevour a wee bit.

2D illustrations are translated to a moving 3D fantasy world, explaining “The Big Bank Theory”. The commercial tells a story of cute little creatures trying to store their gold. A story about the growth of the banking world, merging of banks, managers needing managers and the amount of money this costs: Big Banks spill the little creatures' gold. A tough, simple message, pictured in an eloquent symbolic and poetic language.
Graphic designer Paul Postma and illustrator Raoul Deleo animated a 3D commercial for Dutch bank Alex. It is released on Dutch public and commercial television this week.

This is also amazing - not quite a promo, but it features Reyn doing a live remix of Bjork's 'I've Seen It All' from 'Dancer In The Dark'. He's doing the whole thing live, playing parts, sampling, triggering, and them playing over it. Bloody brilliant.
