Belgian agency, Happiness Brussels, just uploaded a great film to our Feed section: two typographers, a programmer and a racing driver collaborating to create a font by tracking the movements of a car…

The iQ font is the result of the project (see below) and you can watch the making-of film, When Driving Becomes Writing, on Feed here

    What the fuck?

  • Bastian

the Link from the video doesnt work – or does it? (www.toyota.be/iqfont)

  • Like any novelty font, people will eventually “tyre” of it…

The peter saville poetry is nice but it doesn’t tell me anything about the car…
I prefer this one.. much more of an idea.

  • Valerie

    agree. nice project…

  • piff

try this direct link if the url doesn’t work http://nl.toyota.be/cars/new_cars/iq/iq_font.aspx

  • Neat idea. I like the font, it suits the car.

  • agree. cool project indeed. But isn’t that a Smart car with a Toyota logo on it?

  • I can’t really see the point. It’s not a very attractive font, When would you want to use it? If you ever wanted to create a headline that looked like it was made by tyre marks, you could do a better job using an illustrator. I don’t think this would do the job.

    It’s just showing off.

  • How did the car make the speech marks?

  • Hid

That’s a whole lot of work to create a font. I wonder how long it took them to finish the whole job. I like this anyways!

  • Rob

That is really cool. Hopefully they didn’t burn too much gas…

  • Haha this is really cool. Can I get access to this font anywhere? I mean can I download as add-on for word or something? That would be really sweet.
