Ecouté a Martin Parr

Is Martin Parr the first photographer to be honoured in popular song? French singer Vincent Delerm's "Martin Parr" featured on his 2008 album, Quinze Chansons, and he is known to perform the song live complete with a Parr slide-show. While photography-inspired tunes crop up now and then (St. Etienne's The Bad Photographer and, er, Tommy Steele's Flash, Bang, Wallop for example) we can't think of any other snappers inspiring songs directly. Until Gavin here came up with a cracker: Uptown Top Rankin by Anthea & Donna. Wallop indeed. Any more? Click through to see Delerm performing Martin Parr in Paris. "Cecil Beaton's Scrapbook" by the Would-Be-Goods (http://www.last.fm/music/Would-Be-Goods/_/Cecil+Beaton%27s+Scrapbook - a track that defines the quixotic romanticism of the el label) is a glaring omission from your list of snapper-pop.

What about the Manic Street Preachers' 'Kevin Carter'?

Or "He looks like SPencer Tracy now" by Deacon Blue about Joe O'Donnell?

Renowned jazz photographer William Claxton inspired a couple of tunes by West Coast jazz stalwarts: "Clickin' With Clax" by Shorty Rogers and "Sound Claxton" by Al Cohn.

Also, the last track on the first Futureheads album namechecks not only the eponymous "Man Ray", but also Edward Weston.
