Grapevine Fires for Death Cab For Cutie, directed by Walter Robot

For all the talk of the death of the medium, brilliant new videos seem to be arriving daily into CR Towers at the moment - here's a selection of our favourites this week. First up is a poignant and affecting animation by Walter Robot for Death Cab for Cutie's Grapevine Fires. The song and video is about wildfires in California but also feels especially moving in light of the recent fires in Australia. Quicktime is here.

Director Reuben Sutherland has created this Space Invaders-inspired vid for Röyksopp's new single Happy Up Here.

Daniel by Bat For Lashes, directed by Johan Renck

A couple of videos that actually feature the musicians for you now - first up we find Bat For Lashes' Natasha Kahn romping with a group of unusually clad dancers in this video for new track Daniel, directed by Johan Renck.

Next is Barney Clay's video for the Yeah Yeah Yeah's Zero, which shows Karen O parading around town and generally being über-cool as ever. Unfortunately YouTube's squabbles with the PRS in the UK means I can't embed this video, but you can watch it by clicking here.

The Ting Tings in Manchester for adidas Originals

Finally we end with a film that is technically not a music video at all, but does involve music so I thought I could squash it in here. In a stunt backed by adidas, The Ting Tings played a free gig in Manchester for fans. The gig took place in an all-white space and all attendees were given white adidas Originals tracksuits to wear, before then being handed paint guns and pens to express their creativity while the band played on. The intention was to create a "music and art spectacle - a living and breathing mural". Looking at the footage in the film above, it looks more like a right old mess was created, but good fun seems to have been had by all.
