A journey into Tony Kaye's mind - yikes!

You hear nothing from him for months, then he's all over the place. After his impromptu Soho gig last week, Tony Kaye will be talking about his inspirations this Friday in London
“A Day in the Life of Tony Kaye” - A Journey into his Mind is the first in a series of Design Inspiration events at The Cube Store, a pop-up event space tied in to the UK launch of the Nissan Cube car.

Kaye is apparently going to talk about The Beatles' Sgt Pepper's album: "For me, my inspiration is all about Sgt Pepper's. I think it is the greatest work of art made in my lifetime - and the greatest piece of recorded art ever." he says in typically understated fashion.
Kaye's talk (which starts at 7pm on November 27) will launch a six-week series of "avant-garde design, music, fashion, film, and art-themed evening experiences for the most creative, inquisitive and inspirational minds in the capital" at The Cube Store which is setting up shop at The Boiler House, Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, E1 until January.
As part of the same programme, on December 3 the Design Museum is staging When Ugly Meets Lovely at The Cube Store, a discussion led by Deyan Sudjic, with Nissan's Alfonso Albaisa, Richard Seymour and Morag Myerscough, about "why and how taste evolves and the impact this has on the direction in which design progresses".
There will also be a pop-up (that word again) store from über-cool Parisian retailer Colette

i think its great that youll publish anything he says or does with apparent interest. but rather than just dress it up in a sequence of non articles, just allow him to post his adverts directly on your website. yikes !

@Nissani
Yes, precisely three stories in five years of doing the blog, one of those three being a year ago. No exaggeration there then.

Tony Kaye is worth supporting I reckon.
It's not exactly like he has taken boring (and sensible) career decisions all his life like 99% of people. If he had been willing to play the game I'm sure he could be a big Hollywood director now - but no he's more interested in being a singer-songwriter. God bless him I say....

@ slobrity and nissani
Bore 'us'? Seems like 'both' of you are writing from exactly the same IP address...

The interviewer wasn't great last night, and the acoustics were crap! I mean if Tony wants to bring his band, fine, but if all you're gonna offer is drums + bass + guitar at least give us something to chew on by letting us hear the vocals!
I thought it was cool he took phone calls though. Hes anti rock and roll but rock and roll at the same time.
