The November issue of CR focuses on your workplaces – what they look like and what you do there, featuring CR readers from around the world
Our cover this month is by Jellymon in Shanghai. It's a (very) abstracted visualisation of their studio space and forms part of a feature in which we asked five studios around the world to show us where they work:
The issue was very much inspired by Unit Editions' book Studio Culture, from which we have an exclusive extract - an interview with Erik Spiekermann in which he explains (with typical thoroughness) how he would structure his ideal studio
Then we look at ad agency interiors and what meanings they hope to convey about thier occupants
Plus, we visit The District, a creative agency in Cambridge with an art gallery on its ground floor

For subscribers, we also have a very special Monograph this month. In 1942, Geoff Thomason created and began to edit The B-Line, a magazine for the men of the 48th Royal Tank Regiment B Squadron. The 120 monthly copies of the magazine were printed by hand on a duplicating machine with all equipment and paper stock scrounged from wherever it could be found as the unit fought its way across North Africa and into Italy. Thomason's grandson, Olie Kay, has all but one of the issues of the B-Line, a selection of which are featured in Monograph this month

Love it. Though have not finished last months yet... Damn I am a slow reader.
The magazine looks great but for those of you who bought it from the newsstand, what did you think of the fantastic, environmentally friendly packaging? A BAG THAT DISSOLVES IN WATER... Even the ink and glue are biodegradable.
This is the first time a magazine has been packaged in this way - well done CR!
The bag is called Harmless-Dissolve and is part of the enviromental packaging range from Cyberpac.
Oh and I know some cynics, might say; 'why must I boil a kettle to make this dissolve, doesn't that use more energy?' You don't need to, its just that boiling water makes it happen instantly - for the more impatient amongst us!

Wow, the issue this month looks amazing - can't wait to get myself down to a store! I'm particularly interested in the different layouts of studios and how a real magazine studio is/runs.

this issue couldn't have been released at a better time for me! i'm in my final year at huddersfield uni. and currently conducting a research report on the workplace, then designing an office for gensler in the north. hypothetical of course as an interior design student. massive help. thank you so much.
I am also in my final year at uni, and I'm also doing my project on the workplace. Well, more specifically for "nomadic working."
I'm looking forward to having a read of this month's issue, especially because I enjoyed the online "Question of the Week". It's interesting to see the different areas that people work in!
