Then pick up one of these new artist-designed ones from Dell...
This latest series of Dell covers has been curated by Surface to Air's Gordon Hull, who chose six artists to create designs based on the theme 'Illuminations' for the laptops. Shown above is one of three designs by Kenzo Minami.

With the 48 new covers in the Iluminations range, there are now over 200 cover choices in the Dell Design Studio, an idea devised by Mother New York for the computer brand that aims to emphasise how Dell users can customise their technology to suit their own style. See the others here.

Nabasty - surely if you wanted a custom cover - a cover that could actually be customised by yourself would be a better idea that having 100 or so people having the same average photograph / artwork slapped on the cover right?
C'mon marketeers!

Surely a ploy to try and get more creative/multimedia types to buy a PC?
Frankly I'd rather sit in a room with Gordon Brown talking to me about his favourite colour, whilst having my shins kicked by a small child, and stick a dirty needle in my eye than buy a Dell.
Harsh but anyone who has ever owned one will probably agree with me.
I'll stick to my macbook pro thanks.

Yikes!
Poor PCs - trying to be cool - and failing miserably

It's like a computer wallpaper, but worse - it's permanent.
I think other manufacturers really should just learn from Apple - simple is everything. If they just got this one basic idea into their heads I'm sure Apple would actually have some competition!

I agree with the 'simple is everything', they literally just looked slapped on. the usual badge in the middle does'nt work either, they really need to rethink it, or just stick with black.
