Kanye tackles his inner demons

Music Video / Film

Kanye West appears as a drunken fool (again, you cry?) in this short film, We Were Once A Fairytale, directed by Spike Jonze. There is dancefloor swaggering/staggering, boozed-up shagging and some impressive projectile vomiting. But then things take a turn for the very strange... and the gory.

Well there is no such thing as bad publicity, or that is what they say.

This has to have been shot with a DSLR, rolling shutter actually works really well.

What a T*sser! Even if it is Hammed up and an staged, he still has a horrible ego! His music is the pits too its like he has sat on a vocoder and rams it up everyone he meets arse!

I love Spike Jonze work and can see were he is coming from with it but I just don't under stand why someone would want to be famous for being an arsehole, like the Taylor Swift thing it is another manufactured attempt to grab headlines!

Another good Spike piece - overall nice work. The blood/puke was a bit off, clunky, over the top. Loved the inner demon. Minus the huge career and ego I can relate to the story, on more than one occasion.

After seeing Where the Wild Things Are (directed by Spike Jonze), not sure I could stomach another one of his flicks. And Kanye West? Hmmm, should be interesting :)

@ victor

I've replaced it with a working version, although Kanye's site says 'sorry I had to take it down', so it may keep being removed...

You've got to admire - although I'm not entirely sure that's the right word - his nerve in creating an indulgent short film about a hugely indulgent star.

Curious to wonder who exactly the audience is as it's certainly not his core fan base - is this a short film about Kanye West for Kanye West?

Perhaps he should have spent all that money on something that was more creatively ambitious that actually says more than "It's not my fault, it's my little demon inside of me", which is afterall is a pretty shit excuse.
