Lego to launch first UK calendar

We're suckers for all things Lego here at CR so were somewhat overexcited to hear about the first Lego calendar to be issued in the UK, with all profits going to the National Autistic Society

The calendar features a variety of Lego characters, many of them imperilled by everyday objects in scenarios relating to each month. All the LEGO elements used have been in production at some point - even the terrified expressions come from genuine Lego figures.

The calendar is the work of freelance designer/photographer Ben Watts who works in-house at Lego HQ in Slough. It will be available to buy from UK Lego Stores or at from this week.

And, talking of Lego (just in case you haven't seen it)...

(Thanks Ben)

Brilliant idea!

The pen tool work on the front cover is a bit sloppy though...

Yeah - what's up with the clipping path on the cover? Looks like InDesign's up to it's old tricks again...

Quality calendar tho. Might make me overlook the 'Hunks from off of Hollyoaks' one.

Hi, and i'm really glad you all love the calendar. It was great fun to work on and all for a very good cause.

I realise the clipping paths look a bit shabby on these lores images but fear not, they don't show up on the printed artwork. We have triple checked that. Quite right, i'll blame InDesign for that!

Its now available from the LEGO Shop website:

Or from any LEGO UK Stores.

This is brilliant - will go nicely in my studio with my lego usb, 3 lego (well lego inspired) external hard drives.. love it. Reminds me of being 12 and in the Lego Club.. is that still going?

You're all mad! It's not brilliant, it's not funny and it's not clever. It's the equivalent of Animal Hospital, ITV4, the mirror on sunday's colour supplement, a gee whiz car, tim henman, george w bush and magalluf all rolled into one.

Lego club is still going! My boyfriend is a member and he's 28. He gets a lego club magazine every so often.
Love the idea for the calendar but not very impressed with the images :(

Ben is behind the scene so everything should be damn perfect , he is very cool designer/photographer !
He works at Lego Headquarters in Slough and most of the credit goes to him . Thanks to Bin and thanks to Patrick as well for bringing the story on front , cheers !

This calendar is hilarious. How much did you paid them to pose for you Ben? :D

Hello, my son would love this calendar but we live in the US. Is there anyway to purchase it directly from you? The Lego site will not let me purchase it through them.

Thank you,
Chris Flitter
