The noodle van is coming... The noodle van is coming...

The first truly brilliant Xmas ad of this year has arrived, in the form of AKQA's charmingly animated spot for Pot Noeldle, a special Christmassy version of the dried food snack. The ad mocks the smaltz of most of the seasonal ads out there, offering a more down-to-earth, and particularly UK-based Xmas experience instead. As the Pot Noodle van travels through town, the locals can't help but drop what they're doing and follow it, until a firmly 2010-style Christmas scene is unveiled.

Notice some thing new every time I watch it, great attention to detail - "Cash for Organs" shop in the background.

Brilliant, especially the 'Coventry Cat Slayer' lady at the beginning of the advert.

Excellent and charming and does far more for the brand tan the bad ads of the last few years.
Funny how we are seeing just as much top creative working coming out of digital agencies as ad agencies. The world has changed

Interesting that they so relentlessly mock chavs, one of the largest consumers of the stuff!

Really, really depressing. A very accurate portrait of British society in the 21st century. And, an appalling ad for a truly appalling product. But then, the British love rubbish.

absolutely brillant! i don't really get all the humour parts though. not too observant! heh! can someone fill me in please?

The best Christmas spot comes from a digital agency. What's up with you advertising agencies?!!
2010-12-03 21:45:08
Seems to be saying there demographic is aimed at chavs...I golden wonder why?
Ive noticed the price of Pot Noodles has suddenly shot through the roof from an all time low of 45p in summer to 85p-£1.00 of late...comes to something when the chaviest of all snacks is too expensive! Is there something we are missing should we sell our gold reserves and buy into chicken and mushroom flavour?
Lets face it we all love a cheeky pot noodle....butty!

Blimey! It's the peckham terminator
