Fallon has created this striking spot, featuring a man jumping over a bull, to advertise a new series on BBC Radio 4 titled 'A History of the World in 100 Objects'.

The film is the first of two films by the agency to promote the radio series, which is created in partnership with the British Museum, and will tell the stories behind various objects. In this case, the story is centred around a ritual performed by men in 1700 BC Minoan Crete to conquer their fear.

Directed by Wiz, the film was shot in Spain where a man jumped over a several prime fighting bulls weighing well over 600kg each. "Sometimes it's quite bizarre to write this stuff down on a page and then a couple of months later be stood on set in the dead of night, watching a half naked man running straight at a 600kg bull before jumping clean over it," says Sam Walker, creative director on the ad.

I don't think they spent enough time in post. It doesn't quite work.
The guy's arm gives the game away.
Shame.

@Red Brown — I don't found it fair to blame Fallon for any inspiration from the Nike ad. Both, the Nike and the BBC ads are inspired from two way different things, and I wouldn't say there's any connection between them.

Speaking of this one, It's nice, nothing special tho. I should agree with the comment that it somehow reminds of the new Guinness.

Am I missing something? Interesting track, nicely shot. But pretty dull all the same.

Certainly a striking ad - not the kind of thing you usually see everyday, which is nice. However that said, it's not particularly interesting once you've seen it once!

More a case of taking inspiration from the artefact in the British Museum rather than a nike ad. Not everything is suggested by other ads, get over it. Beautifully executed.

@ Mike... What are you banging on about.
@ Darling Dash - it does look like about 3 guinness ads that I can think of off the top of my head, because there is a wrinkly old man, shot in black and white, looking pensive in slow motion blah blah blah. Please don't finish a statement with a question though because it makes you sound like a retard. no?

well done wiz, looks sick.

As the others have said, it is clearly an homage to Glazer's Guinness ads - especially the swimmer and surfer ones but there's also a whiff of the later (and crappier) ad where everybody climbed over each other to look through a hole. There's also a strange similarity to the BBC's own (awful) snooker titles.
