Regular readers of the CR blog may recall we posted about designer Rick Banks’ Type Trumps pack back in August 2007 (see the original post here). Now Banks has created Type Trumps 2 – another pack of 30 game cards (each representing a different, classic typeface) with which players can battle it out Top Trump-style. The weild-worthy typeface statistics on each card include year of design, the amount of weights, and cost. As per the first pack, Banks has aso given each typeface a ‘rating’ score, a ‘legibility’ score and even a ‘special power’.

Type Trumps 2 is available direct from Banks website at face37.com priced at £9.99 including worldwide shipping.

Got a pack of Type Trumps 1 (the red ones) for Christmas. Lovely! Got a kicking from my daughters who played me as a team and whose German (for Din) and knowledge of roman numerals (for Trajan) was a distinct advantage.

Hi,

I bought creative review this month.

The article on the chicha posters is excellent.

The documentary that you said can be viewed online detailing the process doesn't seem to be available.

Any chance of uploaded it soon?

@ Mike
Hi, thanks for the comment. We're actually just working on the subtitles to the film right now. It should be up very soon, so hold tight! When it's finished it'll go up as a post here on the blog.

Wow these are great - they'd be the perfect present for a couple of people I know, who are (rightly_ in love with all things typographic!
I like how each one has a different layout to showcase the font, nicely done.

@Luci I also appreciated the attention to detail. It would of been too easy to have gone with a generic layout. I must have these.
