An app for Warhol
Posted by Patrick Burgoyne, 15 October 2010, 11:47 Permalink Comments (10)

With Dare's Remote Palette app you can paint using both your iPhone and iPad, as demonstrated in this cheeky film referencing a rather famous Warhol performance
See the original here
The Remote Palette app was developed by Dare's Flo Heiss and Perry Price through the agency's DareLabs R&D division. With the iPhone and iPad connected, the phone becomes a palette, allowing the user to choose colours and brushes with which to paint on the supplied outline drawings on the iPad. Get it here

What excatly is it that are so fascination about this? Is it because it is something from Apple?
The application looks like something programmed to be used in a workshop for five years old kids - og hey... it even looks like it is an application that was made in Adobe Flash version 3 or 4 for 10 years ago.
And why does the man look like Andy Warhol. Is it because the whole setup is soooo bad it have to imitate a real person that acctually could do something!
I'm amazed and doesn't see the point - except the standard I-amsoinnovative marketing-thing...
An app for Warhol and Warhol uses IPad... What a lie...

Flo, Perry and all the rather clever people involved in DareLabs R&D are showing us what can be done with ipads and iphones. That's the important thing here. Colouring in a burger may not be the most profitable use of this technology (mind you...you never know, there are many people who like colouring things in and eating burgers) but it opens the doors to many great apps and ideas. And that I reckon, is a good thing.
Good job boys and girls and thanks for the insight.

Here's an idea. Go crazy and read something about the Whiteboard app which has been around for a while. Catchup.

Erm, doesn't seem like the best use of this technology, but i like the idea behind the video.

This is about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike. Just like the iPhone and iPad really. I give up.
