Yesterday Creative Review—or more properly @CreativeReview—hit the landmark figure of 200,000 followers on Twitter. To celebrate, we spent the day giving away lots of nice things. (And alientating a few grumpy followers by over-tweeting. Spoilsports.)

Using the #200kday hashtag, we kicked proceedings off moderately with some book and magazine giveaways, including a call for pictures of ‘creative pets’. Judging from the #petswinprizes entries, it appears cats are the creative type's favoured companion (see lead image).
@FaberBooks were kind enough to donate one of their beautiful poetry sets, so we set followers the task of writing a paean to CR in under 140 characters. This prize was taken appropriately enough by book designer @chads_eye_view, for a literal, rather than literary, tweet:
'To win some books, a rhyming couplet you must do, / Short and sweet wrapped up with a mention of @CreativeReview’
I think it’s safe to say most of the copywriters were busy at the time. @asburyandasbury appeared to wake a few minutes after the deadine and submitted several sublime examples of word-smithery, including:
'When I die, let this be my inscription: / He expired before his Creative Review subscription.'
We thought it appropriate to send Mr & Mrs Asbury Faber’s collected works of Samuel Beckett.
After the lunchtime japes we got down to the serious business of giving away a page in the illustration section of this year’s Creative Review Handbook. Illustrators were invited to upload their best personal work to Feed, with our favourite taking the prize.
It was a tough call to make. After we’d whittled down the entries to the final two, our followers made the ultimate decision, plumping for @wlllng’s evocative Waterbirth, shown below.

As part of the day’s celebrations we also unlocked all of this issue’s online content for our followers, we Rorschach-tested them with the aid of @RedstonePress; heard about everyone's favourite T-shirt slogans; and asked for mocked-up CR covers with a Hallowe’en theme, the winning entry for which was from Jo @ImageSource, shown here:

Finally, the @NokiaPush team have been generous enough to provide a Nokia N8 for us to give away. We're pleased to announce the winner of the phone is graphic designer @talkthomas.

We do love a challenge! Congrats to the big 200K and we look forward to whatever challenge is laid down for the 300K (which will no doubt be pretty soon!)

Not my best work admittedly, but I thought it worth 'Ronsealing' it. Thanks CR for taking pity on me and for such a great prize. I'll perhaps stick to the art direction in future though :)
