UK Music Video Award Winners Announced

OK Go picked up the Best Video of the Year at last night's UK MVA Awards, for the band's Rube Goldberg-Heath Robinson-Fischli & Wiess-esque video for This Too Shall Pass, directed by James Frost and Synn Labs...
The other big winner on the night was Plan B, who won four awards for two videos that form part of a series directed by Daniel Wolfe. The winning videos were Prayin' (shown above), which picked up the Best Pop Video and Best Art Direction gongs, and Stay Too Long, which was awarded Best Cinematography and Best Styling. Wolfe picked up the Best Director award, while the producer of the videos, Tim Francis, was awarded as Best Producer.
The Icon Award was presented by Radiohead's Ed O'Brien to directing team Hammer & Tongs (Garth Jennings and Nick Goldsmith), for their contribution to music videos over the years. Among their greatest hits are promos for Blur, Supergrass, Fat Boy Slim, REM and Beck. Jennings and Goldsmith have since gone on to direct features, including Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, but still continue to make music videos on the side - Jennings' recent promo for Vampire Weekend's Cousins is shown above.
Here are the the winners in full, complete with the videos, unless the pesky record companies won't allow embedding...

how can a video clip thats even been ripped off in car commercials be seen as video of the year/creative?
that's pretty sad and boring really.

the best thing about that OK GO video is the fact that apparently there's a ton of really expensive post production and cleaver edits to hide the fact they failed do it in one take.
Seriously, the most original thing they could do right now would be to just go away and make a video where they just stand (relatively still) in a studio in front of a plane white background, playing their instruments for three minutes!
nice to see the awesome Keith Schofield getting some attention!

I think OK GO are always making catchy videos that have a stickiness factor about them. Remember this video anyone?
