Nice work for French Connection, Wrangler, Nike and more

First up in this week’s round-up of new advertising work is an enigmatic film from agency 101. The short is a teaser for a batch of French Connection ads that will be released in the autumn, which this time make the clothes the hero…
101 is the new creative agency from former Fallon partners Richard Flintham, Laurence Green and Mark Elwood, and the campaign builds on the team’s previous FC campaign, The Man/The Woman, made while at Fallon. The new films are shot by Leila & Damien De Blinkk, from production company OneSix7.

From French Connection to Wrangler, and a new interactive film, Mark Your Territory, from Stink Digital, which invites viewers to click the screen to make certain events happen. Stills are shown above, visit the site here. Directors: Zubicky & Tempelman.
This new Nike spot from F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi focuses on the addictive side to running. Creative directors: Fabio Fernandes, Eduardo Lima. Creatives: Rodrigo Castellari, Pedro Prado. Director: Jones+Tino. Production company: Delibistrot.
Work Club created the Human API campaign for Ballantine’s whisky, which plays on the brand’s tagline ‘Leave An Impression’. Using live streams on Facebook, the campaign allowed fans access to the minds of three creatives as they worked. They could also interact with them via live chat, and influence the way their works developed. These three films document the events: shown from top is ice sculptor J.A.M.I.E, who creates a dancing ice robot; Bristol graffiti artist 45 R.P.M, who made an animated graffiti wall; and Paris-based tattoo artist K.A.R.L., who created an animated tattoo with the help of Facebook users.
We finish with a new, summery spot for San Miguel beer from Saatchi & Saatchi in London. Directed by Daniel Wolfe, it tells the story of ‘a life well lived’ from the perspective of the beer.

The Agency 101 advert is very random, not sure weather it will intrigue me to look out for the follow up adverts, am hoping it will make more sense when I see them though, because at the moment it makes none. I would have expected more from the ex Fallon guys!
Love the advert for Nike though, portraying runners as adrenalin addicts is good, especially as the luminous clad runners in my area look like they could do with an improved image! Nicely directed grunge feel too.

Yeah I agree. Not a fan of the 101 advert but I really like the Nike and Wrangler campaigns.

In regards to K.A.R.L, the tattoo was truly awful! Why not showcase the work and creativity of a gifted tattooist with this idea and to top it off the animation was dumb and as pants as the tattoo. A unique idea destroyed by bad artists.

I completely agree with Howie's comment. It could of had a much bigger impact if they were to use genuinely gifted artists rather than just throwing this together. Good idea, very poor execution which ruined it.
