Abbie Brandon's short film follows Ben Eine as he paints his recent Oranges and Lemons piece on the side of the London Graphic Centre in Covent Garden...

Clambering around on scaffolding, Eine introduces his large-scale project which, he says, will spell out "oranges and lemons say the bells of St Clements and then something else that you've never heard of."

Despite Westminster council's notorious zero tolerarance position on street art, Eine hopes his typographic commission will keep the issue firmly on the agenda.

In the film, Brandon asks him about his wider work and the appeal of painting on the street. "Once I've taken a photograph [of it] and walked away, I don't really care about it," says Eine, passing comment on the transitory nature of the medium, where artists rarely see their work up for very long.

"Ben's a man on a mission this year," writes Brandon on her Vimeo page, "having painted all round the world in all sorts of places with all sorts of people, but this is his first piece in the UK in 2011."

Brandon's website is at abbiebrandon.squarespace.com.

'I walk down shoreditch high street and all I see is three Eine's and two Banksy's. It's fucking boring. Who the fuck wants that.'

The last time I saw Ben, we were painting trains, now he's the new fucking banksy!

What a pile of shit, i'd rather not make money? - Who you kidding, just sounds like Ben trying to gain back some street credibility, with plenty of F words thrown in, to show how ghetto he still is, mmmmm......

Still, there's plenty worse out there, and at least he was a true writer once......

But stencil letters in kids colours?

We could all do that shit.......

Oh how the mighty have fallen. From train painter, to painter of choice for the c's in number 10. And all you art fag money grubbing twats like the one above can make your apologist comments and prozac flavoured platitudes but all it comes down to you lot is print releases so you can possibly make a few quid off the back of it.

Fucking stencils on a massively overpriced art supply store. Jeez, what next a wine advert?

Its not a good thing nor is it new, this is what we did in towns all over the world before billboards.
Painted our adverts and shop contents on the sides of buildings.
It is a lost art perhaps Creative Review can do an article on this.

Displayed and sold by a not so ghetto white walled art gallery... :-) Chris

Whatever you think of Ben's work it seems to bring out strong reactions in people. I think it looks pretty good to me and makes things a little brighter and that must be a good thing.

Maybe he doesn't 'paint trains' anymore because he's no longer 16!?

Just a thought
