New Prometheus trailer by Johnny Hardstaff

RSA director Johnny Hardstaff has directed an eerie new trailer starring Michael Fassbender, promoting the upcoming Ridley Scott movie Prometheus
'David' is the butler and maintenance man on the space ship in the film which sees a group of explorers searching for clues to the origin of humanity. As David calmly explains, he is the latest product from the Weyland Corporation and can carry out directions that his "human counterparts might find distressing". Yikes.
Prometheus is planned for a June 1 release in the UK. As is the way with major releases now, a multifacted promotional campaign has been gathering pace in recent months. In February, TED attendees received this TedTalk from the future from actor Guy Pearce, who plays the Weyland CEO in the fim.

One of the best marketing campaigns for a movie I've ever seen. I wonder how much Ridley is behind all of this, whether he's been overseeing all the marketing himself or he's just hired some very good people to do it. Either way, Ridley knows how to surround himself in the best talent out there and bring the best out of them. One of the greatest. I cannot wait for June.

Agree completely Josh.
This marketing campaign feels so refreshing, they've extending the film's universe outside of the film itself. Doing so in such a manner that it has new fans hooked in through intrigue and long time fans picking through every detail to figure out what they can. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying this is my most anticipated film of 2012.

Excelent marketing, really thinking out of the box in terms of considering the viral as a new canvas. Does anyone know the agency behind this?

Extending the story is a nice touch. I did the whole Weyland Industries angle.
It reminds me of the first time I came across the Donnie Darko website back in the late 90s.

Its clever, but not all that original. Plug a film using alternative media channels therefore creating a hyper reality situation that almost makes it feel like it SHOULD be real...perhaps something we have seen before in the history of humanity or maybe something that we will see in the near future. A glimpse of what is to come...or not...

Kept thinking of Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory. They should spoof this. Comedy/SF crossover gold.

David 8 can carry out "directives", not "directions".
He's not a satnav.

I thought the Wachowski brothers did a pioneering job with The Matrix, which had other elements of the story added through animation and video games. The video games also had included within it, especially shot footage, which was planned ahead and shot within the same time as filming, to keep it consistent and authentic.

I'm so delighted to get 'trailers' that broaden the cinematic experience rather than simply presenting the content in a sometimes disingenuous way. Performance is one thing but capturing it and presenting it in such a compelling, expansive and engaging way is nothing short of impressive.

does anyone know who did the design for the Weyland Industries website, as I find it spectacular!
Thanks in advance. C
