British Airways celebrates its sponsorship of the forthcoming Olympic Games with a charming new spot, titled The Race.

The ad, by BBH London, sees bags from different nations race each other to be first out on the arrivals baggage carousel after a flight. A British bag, owned by a little girl, is pitted against bags from the US, Brazil, South Africa, and Japan in a race to the finish. The ad features a running commentary provided by veteran sports presenter Jim Rosenthal.

Nice, but optimistic. And the cynic in me wonders about the time penalties incurred when bags mysteriously go missing for two weeks between start and finish line.

Bit dull. Not sure what they are actually advertising as cynics up and down the country will actually be thinking of how the hairy-arsed baggage handlers really treat their bags...

Stop being so cynical you bores. It's nice and captures the British under dog spirit.

I dance like that too when I get my bags back.

A nice idea that could have been executed with a little more drama.

At least it's a reasonable link to the Olympics, unlike all the oh-so-tenious contrived connections being flogged by so many other brands.

I do like it a lot, but the irony regarding the notorious baggage going missing at BAs terminal 5 is maybe better

Interesting twist on a airplane company! Love the fun and energy it captures of the whole experience of travelling.

Jim Rosenthal is a wrong call. Mixed messages and not someone associated with anything but football.

Hate British Airways but this is good advert using Olympics theme. Works on several levels using British humour well

Brilliant, I remember when BBH opened it's doors in 1982, another great little commercial.
Well done to BA for being brave enough to show the less glamorous side of airline travel too.

They could have made a bags of it, but they handled it reasonably well.

A very poor follow-up to their recent success with that excellent ad about the history of BA: that ad had a human story and something to relate to. This is about conveyor belts that every airline uses. It does nothing to stir me or set BA apart from any other airline.

Ha, nice one Garrett!

I like the add, but i have watched it a few times and all i can think about its Cadburys. It reminds me of their airport advert. Does anybody else think of Cadburys?

Great ad. Have not seen it on TV though (normal or cable). I guess they will run it overseas too? Would they be running it in each of the markets featured in the ad? I doubt they picked the countries at random. I wounder if it had a different ending in each market ?!!!
