Barcelona-based designer Jordi Duró has a new show of personal work at Madame La Marquise, a gallery based in a large apartment in the city. Taking inspiration from this setting, Duró has created a kind of ideal home

The show, curated by Mery Cuesta, is called Chien Lunatique. Duró says "I decided to literally make the space my own and give each room the use I would at home. This has resulted in creating a playroom for my daughter (above), designing the covers for my favourite records or making a collection of collage book covers with papers I found inside the books themselves (below), all this mixed with some of my personal objects. Altogether I've created over 40 pieces that portray both my life and my interests."

Subscribers may remember that our October 2009 Monograph featured Duró's collection of found books and albums found at a flea market in Barcelona. He runs the Estudi Duró design consultancy in the city.
Chien Lunatique is at Madame La Marquise: Enric granados 116, principal segona, Barcelona until February 5.

I'll be opening my garage as Gallery Crapstore.
Located in London, it is curated by me, Curator, and shows a selection of my detritus, washing, old bikes, tatty books, broken toys...oh and an odd sock.

I love it! The brick is spectacular, a brilliant metaphor

I was lucky to attend the gallery, and was really impressed with Jordi's work.
And everything gets even more interesting when the author himself explains the reason of each art work and how he was influenced and inspired by other personalities.
