Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and if you've been racking your brains for how you might approach your dream lover, Heineken may just have the answer...

The beer brand and Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam have created a fun Facebook app that features the band from Heineken's hugely successful ad from last year, The Date. The app allows users to send a personalised message to a potential partner, asking them on a date. Different date scenarios - including line dancing and ostrich riding - can be picked, and users can also enter info on why they like the person they are serenading and what they have to offer them. Once chosen, the options will be turned into an individualised film, performed by the band. Here's an example that was sent to CR earlier by 'a secret admirer' (who could it be?):

Once your recipient receives their film, they have the option to say yes or no to the date. As we're fairly accommodating folks at CR, we of course said yes, and sent this reply back to our admirer.

To start your own serenade, go online to Facebook here. A teaser ad for the campaign can also be viewed here.

In addition to the app, Heineken will also be hosting 'Serenade Live', an eight-hour YouTube event featuring individuals around the world serenading their dream lovers live online on February 9. If you'd like to take part in this event, you can apply via Facebook (info here) or Twitter (here). Hopefully Heineken will help you all find love...but if not, it offers a reasonably good way of drowning your sorrows too!

This is a remix from AgĂȘncia Clicks Isobar's last year Valentines's Day in Brazil (it happens in June) for Sadia Hot Pocket.

I saw this ad for the first time yesterday at the cinema (in Italy there are 20 minutes of advertising before the movie) ... for me and my wife was very funny, and curiosity increased much during commercials because the brand is shown only at the end.
Surely this advertising cost much, but for me it will be a good investment.
