In another of our regional talent-spotter blog posts, we take a look at work from the Glasgow School of Art's Visual Communication degree show, which includes a Hollywood starlet card game, holiday-postcard inspired images, and some wry comment on art school trends. With thanks to our Glasgow reporter Claire Biddles.

A card game featuring Hollywood starlets; a fictional holiday resort called 'Desert Shores': Kate Costigan loves faded glamour and her delicately hand-drawn illustrations bring a sense of pathos to her candy-coloured visions.

Izzy Kertland's bespoke lunchboxes based on a favourite childhood meal, holiday destination or even movie scene (burger and shake from Pulp Fiction?) are charming and whimsical, without feeling twee.

'A comment on art school trends', Malcolm Murdoch takes a well-known logo seen all over bags in the art school and alters it slightly to suit his wry take on 'alternative' fashion tribes.

A lesson in graphic design techniques taught as through a pop video. In a delightful visual display of overprinting, each of Sibbet's leaps, jumps and hula-hoops are held on-screen until she's multiplied twenty times. A fun show-and-tell pastiche.

The look of Gabriella DiTano's holiday-postcard tropical, 90s throwback promotional posters defines Glasgow's DIY art and club scene at the moment; her work can be seen advertising exhibitions, club nights and craft fairs all over the city, but its distinctive text shapes and colours are impressive in a whole new way seen en masse at the degree show.
