A nation expects – can Wayne Rooney overcome the difficulties posed both by his suspension and his hilarious new hairstyle and pull Engalnd with him into the Euro 2012 quarter-finals? As tension mounts, Wieden + Kennedy cunningly embraces the opportunity for a spot of tactical advertising
The ad is an extension of Nike's global 'My Time Is Now' campaign for Nike Football and was directed by Adam Smith at RSA.

It was his hilarious hair that scored last night!

Maybe he's thinking about the sitter that got away last night?..
Quite brave really, obviously Rooney was utterly confident that he could make a positive contribution to the Ukraine game – on his long-anticipated return to the England team.
Brave, because as good as Rooney is, we all know his penchant for going the other way too. So there was as much potential for embarrassment as success if his frustration got the better of his skills on the night.
I think this is the difference between Nike and Adidas, Nike take risks.. Adidas never would.
