    The film is charming indeed. It struck me just how something like this would never see the light of day here in the states because it is not hard sell. Yes, I do see Pentagram’s numerous designs in the film but clients here would also want the VO to say it also to be sure everyone got it. Clients are a big problem here; they lack sophistication, insight and taste. Mainly because those in charge of advertising have little or no knowledge or experience in advertising and have been told that’s OK. The clients do not respect the agencies and regard them as order takers and expect the agency to deliver exactly what they’ve ordered. Mainly they are scared because the work they’ve asked for and gotten is not working and they are angry about it. The situation worsens with time.

    Nice work to all who contributed to the making of Pentagram’s 40th birthday film, especially Pentagram, what a great client.

    By the way, I’ve got two years on them.
