Bath School of Art and Design: Graphic Communications
Bath School of Art and Design's London degree show, 3, is on display at Hackney Downs Studios until July 10 and includes some excellent design, illustration and typography projects.

Editorial projects on show include books on dinosaurs, origami roadkill and Persian cooking, as well as re-designs of texts by Raymond Chandler and Roald Dahl. I particularly like Charlotte Bull's collection of facts about death row, titled I Am Dying for a Steak (top and below):
Richard Piper's book about Royal Air Force station Greenham Common:
Alice Bowsher's illustrated text, Best Gift Ever, inspired by the urban myth that there are crocodiles living in New York's sewers:
And Gamble's illustrated match day programme for Bath Spa v Brazil, "a book exploring the extremes of football".
Several students have experimented with custom typefaces and letterpress: Taavet Kelle's Movable Type - a large rubber stamp kit with lasercut glyphs attached to clear plastic blocks inside a box which doubles as a ruler - uses his own Kyltti Display face:
And Clarke has created bici, a typeface inspired by bicycle frames, for her bike brand, Viaggio. Clarke refurbishes old bicycles for sale and has designed a website, quarterly look book, merchandise and identity system for the brand.
There are also some great screen prints on display including Emily Rough's hand drawn maps illustrating changes to Bath since the arrival of Georgian architecture:
Elliot Kruszynski's comic art and linocut prints for a fake campaign to save forests and animals and wizards (more images on his website):
And Alice Russell's promotional poster for this year's Bath Fringe Festival. You can see more of Russell's linocut prints, including one illustrating the development of homes and a series produced for a handmade ABC book about animals made for her nephew, on her website.
