Stanley Donwood has been hard at work of late, firstly on the artwork for Radiohead’s eagerly awaited In Rainbows box set, and also on his new book Dead Children Playing, which is published this week.
The book, described on the cover as “A Picture book by Stanley Donwood & Dr Tchock” (widely assumed to be a pseudonym for Thom Yorke), is an extension of Donwood’s show at Barcelona’s Iquapop Gallery last year. Its imagery will be familiar to all Radiohead fans, with artwork for the band stretching back over a decade included, alongside other scribblings, paintings and sketches made along the way. As usual with Donwood, it’s all lovely, if melancholic, stuff.
