Abbot Mead Vickers.BBDO has created three new print ads for the V&A’s Museum of Childhood which continue in the illustrated style the agency established last year with a series of ads that went on to be included in this year’s CR Annual…
As with the last batch of print ads, the new ones have been designed to appeal to young children and also their parents. And once again, the ads were created by copywriter Mike Nicholson and art director Paul Pateman, with Pateman himself working as illustrator on the three different executions, Inner Child (above), Play (below) and also Toys (shown, bottom).

Here at CR, we’re big fans of this campaign although the above poster, entitled Toys, could well be our favourite. Toys from yesteryear form the type and spotting some childhood favourites is, frankly, a joy. There’s Meccano, Rubik’s Cube, Scalextric, Pacman, Lego, Donkey Kong, Kerplunk, Buck-a-Roo and Etch-a-Sketch - to name but a few…
