Jon Burgerman show at Concrete Hermit

Burgerman show

If you thought the doodling of illustrator Jon Burgerman was just confined to two dimensions, then think again. His first series of multi-coloured sculptural pieces can be seen in a new exhibition at the Concrete Hermit Gallery in London. Pop Idle opened last week and follows on from Burgerman’s shows at the ROJO Artspaces in Barcelona and Milan.

As well as the larger works there are also a selection of prints on show to coincide with the launch of his new monograph, Gribba Grub, published by ROJO.

Pop Idle is on until 30 April at the Concrete Hermit Gallery, 5a Club Row, London, E1 6JX. Open 10am-6pm, Tuesday-Sunday. See Concrete Hermit’s site for more information.

I catch on to someone early as long as I am able to see their work. I collect art toys and I first saw Jon’s work on an egg qee. I looked him up and saw some wonderfull things like the guy that first peered into King Tut’s tomb. I am so happy I was able to be here in America and see Jon’s show on line and be able to purchase 2 great paintings and a print. I have seen his progression and I know my initial instinct was right. This guy is going places. Well, I hope he will be going to China to see his show, anyway. Well, so happy with his success. Sometimes when you see good art all you can say is “it works”, that it in a nut shell.
