Nice work (some with a festive flavour)

Apple Mac ads; Agency: TBWA\Media Arts Lab; Creatives: Chuck Monn, Jason Sperling, Alicia Dotter; Director: Drew Lightfoot; Production company: LAIKA/house
It’s the last Friday before Christmas, you’re probably all drunk, but in case any of you are looking for a way to while away some time, here is a selection of the great work we’ve received recently at CR. First up is the latest spot from Apple, which sees the PC and Mac guys appearing in animated form.
BBC2 idents; Agency: Vincent; Directors: John Hill, Rheea Aranha
Continuing the Christmassy feel are these idents for BBC2 from Vincent, which see a festive world created in paper.

Nokia poster, Agency: Wieden + Kennedy; Creatives: Fabian Berglund, Ida Gronblom
Next is a new poster from Wieden + Kennedy for Nokia, part of the agency’s first campaign for the brand since winning the account this summer.

Still from Beyond The Rave, directed by Matthias Hoene
Partizan director Matthias Hoene has completed his first feature, Beyond The Rave, which is also the first film to be produced by Hammer Films in 30 years. This trailer suggests it will be appropriately scary. The film will be premiered initially via 20 minute clips on MySpace before being released as a DVD and download.

Urs Fischer, You, 2007, installation at Gavin Brown’s Enterprise, New York
While Doris Salcedo’s artwork Shibboleth, otherwise known as “the crack”, has been regularly and perplexingly (how do they not see it coming?) injuring visitors to Tate Modern, artist Urs Fischer has gone several steps further in his latest exhibition at Gavin Brown’s Enterprise in New York. The show sees Fischer dig deep into the gallery floor, and, according to New York magazine’s art critic Jerry Saltz, “pulsates with erotic energy”. In case anyone is unaware of the risks involved with visiting, it also comes with the caveat, “The installation is physically dangerous and inherently involves the risk of serious injury or death”.
fFurious in Singapore created this interactive installation, Presentense, which showed as part of the recent Singapore Design Festival.
Led Zeppelin concert visuals, Director: Steve Scott, Production company: Not To Scale
Not To Scale created these concert visuals to go with Led Zeppelin’s much-feted recent live show.

Still from Paulinho Caruso’s video for The Black Ghosts’ Some Way Through This
Cult-Geist, an offshoot of Saatchi & Saatchi that commissions art/film projects, has curated a series of short films by new young directors for the new album by The Black Ghosts. The eleven films will also be as visuals for live events and can be viewed online at www.theblackghosts/films.
Finally, in a nod towards the ubiquitous Best of… lists that litter the media at this time of year, here is my personal favourite video from the last twelve months: Michael Blieden’s spoof video for Kanye West’s Can’t Tell Me Nothin’, starring Bonnie Prince Billy and Zach Galifianakis.
Merry Christmas everybody…
