Videos of the week

Eliza 27/10/06, 12:17

A bumper crop of great videos for you this week, kicked off by Tim Burton’s skeletal promo for The Killers‘ Bones.

This brilliant pastiche of the “bland age” we live in is for Misty’s Big Adventure track Fashion Parade.

Partizan’s Ben & Greg have a conjured up a beautiful Lowry-esque picture of Manchester for the release of Oasis‘ anthemic The Masterplan. As ever with Oasis, Beatles references abound, but the directors’ depiction of Liam is particularly brilliant.

HSI director Barclay Clay is behind this mock-blaxploitation flick for Gnarls Barkley track Who Cares?

A simple but brilliant idea by Oliver Laric for his track Aircondition.

Michel Gondry’s long-awaited promo for Beck’s Cellphone’s Dead is a noir-ish vision.

Finally, Evan Bernard’s video for Moby track New York New York sees a dance troupe “dance out” their negative start in the big apple and win over the city. Thankfully, for Moby non-fans like myself, the man himself is nowhere to be seen.
