FKA twigs creates some of the most critically-acclaimed, genre-bending work of her generation. Following EP1 and EP2, her debut album LP1 was released in August 2014 followed soon after by a third EP called M3LL155X. She has also proved herself to be an exceptional performer and director. In 2014 twigs was signed to Academy Films, directing videos for Pendulum, Glass & Patron and M3LL155X, as well as the Soundtrack 7 dance film created, performed and filmed on-site across seven days at Manchester International Festival in 2015. She has also created and directed campaigns for Nike, and directed films for Google Glass and Calvin Klein. Taking a hands-on approach to all of her work, she has made and released a large portfolio of multi-disciplinary work highlighting movement as a channel of self-expression, most recently collaborating with Spike Jonze on the much celebrated Apple HomePod commercial, Welcome Home. She is currently releasing an Instagram magazine series labelled AVANTgarden, described as “part magic, part-memoir”, each issue explores twigs’ experiences and provides a platform for collaboration through the worlds of music, art, fashion and beyond.
