Quirky Dutch creative duo HeyHeyHey return with a new version of their much-loved 'Melvin The Magical Multimedia Machine'.
With a nomination for the first 'Melvin' in this year's Vimeo Awards (within the 'Captured' section - so get voting!), this second film featuring 'Melvin The Mini Machine' is their attempt at creating the world's smallest Rube Goldberg machine. This means that Melvin can finally travel the world and take up the invitations to exhibit outside of the Netherlands.
His first trip is currently Milan as part of the prestigious ‘Salone Internazionale del Mobile’. In fact, Melvin the Mini Machine is specifically designed to travel the world (he fits perfectly in two suitcases) and each time he completes a ‘run’, he signs a postcard and puts a stamp on it ready to post.
Encouraged by PostPanic (who represent HeyHeyHey worldwide as directors), the duo decided to expand the registration of this new Mini Melvin into a short film format, focusing not only on what the machine can do but also adding the extra dimension of a story.
It is currently Vimeo’s Staff Pick Of The Day.
PostPanic (as the whole collective) are also nominated for a Vimeo Award in the motion graphic category for their dark main titles 'Year Zero' for Barcelona's 2011 OFFF Festival. You can cast your vote online every day for the next two weeks.
