After 31 days of complete darkness, on January 8th Tropicana and BBDO Toronto brought in the sun to the 3,500 residents of Inuvik in Canada’s Northwest Territories. The event was the kick-off of Tropicana's “Brighter Mornings for Brighter Days” campaign and "Arctic Sun" is the documentary-style broadcast spot showcasing the event. "Arctic Sun" is directed by Radke's Samir Mallal, who is also a acclaimed documentary filmmaker. His film Nollywood Babylon, which he wrote, directed and produced along with Ben Addelman, was nominated for the 2009 Grand Jury Prize at Sundance.
