'Framed Illustrations' depicts vernacular scenes, which attempt to show civilisation living in harmony with the surrounding environment. The project combines illustrations and still-life photography to create a contrasting response to current deforestation issues. Borrowing from the surrealist movement, each image reproduces vernacular landscapes, but displaces elements such as trees and hills, to emphasise nature's authority.
