Street for Art Festival 2012
In its 5th edition, the festival discusses local culture. It is a connection between periphery and center. As it became usual, the festival invaded public space again, modified it and gave new meaning to forgotten place. This time it was building a theatre at Prague’s suburban subway station. The circular ramp of the station takes people from elevated bus station under the roof of a highway, where the theatre and festival’s main venue was located. The ramp also gave name to the spot – the Snail. The whole construction was painted red and accompanied with wooden tetris-like boxes of the theatre’s stage. Architects of festival venue was Mjolk Architects studio.
