"Untitled" A Diary From Afghanistan

This was a project that i've been in the pipeline for a long time. Although having to jump through a lot of hoops to get here i've finely made it into a reality. In February this year i was given a leather bound book that contained the diary from the last couple of years of a RAF
helicopter pilot out in Afghanistan, which just so happens to be my brother.
This was a project that was fairly close to me so a lot of time and effort went into perfecting every detail. Because the concept of this idea is more focused on the actual writing itself I thought a cleaver survival kit for it to be housed in and clean minimal style would be suited best for it as so many recent articles on the war i find are too busy and cliché so i decided a change might be what it needed to keep it clean concise and to the point which hooked you in from the start.
The book consisted of different paper stock inserts and cut outs alongside subtle pictures
that run along side, making sure it flowed in a appropriate manor.

If anything reading this book was more a pleasure then designing it and gave me even more respect for our armed forces and how much they sacrifice for us.
